Mountain River Tai Chi 's founder

Keith Robertson started Tai Chi in the 80's with the 3rd disciple of Yeung Sau Chung - Chu King Hung. During which time, Keith was a City Banker (for 23 years). In 1991 Keith was invited to become a junior instructor at the International Tai Chi Chuan Association in London. Two years later, when Chu King Hung closed the school, Keith started a weekly evening class. This has grown into Mountain River Tai Chi, which became a full time school in 1998.

Mountain River Tai Chi was founded by Keith Robertson in 1993, to help fill the vacuum when Chu King Hung retired from regular public teaching. As far as is known only James Uglow, Damian Macnair, Keith Robertson & Michael Kane have trained with all three disciples of Yeung Sau Chung as well as the bloodline i.e. Yeung Ma-Lee. Keith Robertson was a direct student of Chu King Hung (3rd disciple) and also spent time with Chu Gin Soon (2nd disciple). Keith was introduced to Yip Tai Tak (1st disciple) with James Uglow’s school. This event occurred via an introduction by Yeung Ma-Lee (daughter of Yeung Sau Chung). More importantly, Keith along with other students have been introduced to Yeung Ma-Lee (again through James Uglow) and her teachings. John Conroy, James Uglow and Joseph Balthazar founded the Yeung Ma-Lee Student Association. The Yeung Ma-Lee Student Association can be found at www.yeungmaleestudents.org

Mountain River Tai Chi is based in West London, and offers study, tuition and practice opportunities through-out the week primarily in the evenings. James Uglow’s school can be found at Unit 11 Kimberley Works, Walthamstow, London, E17 www.taichi.co.uk 020-8531-3563.
